May 9th 2009...

Life has been so crazy lately and I have wanted to blog for awhile and haven't had a minute! May 9th marked the one year date from when Adam & I got engaged! I can't believe it's been that long and that we have almost been married a year already! I never wrote down how he proposed, so I thought I would so I will always remember. We went on our first date in October of 2008. I was recently divorced and was in a million pieces. I always stayed in touch with his sister Natalie and she had become one of my very best friends. I was at Kristin my sister-in-laws house one night and Natalie casually said that Adam was coming over. I was so nervous to see him because it had been like 5-6 years! We dated when I was 21 and I always had so much fun with him and of course thought he was absolutely gorgeous!! That day I literally looked like I didn't take care of myself, ha ha!! Really though...my hair was all greasy and slicked back in a pony and I had on this dorky headband. I was broken:( He came over and we picked back up from where we had left off. He asked my out and we had a great time! After the date I was sure he would call me again. Well...he didn't!! What did I do wrong? I was sure it was the headband...did I say something weird?? I didn't want to ask Natalie because I didn't want to look like I cared right? Two months passed and he called me out of the blue! I didn't even know who it was at first because I had deleted his number from my phone! We fell in love so quick and he showed me how to love again:) We dated for five amazing months...and on May 9th 2009 he proposed...

Proposal...We knew we were going to get married, but I truly had no idea when he was going to propose. A couple of weeks prior he had asked me if I wanted to go to the Miner's Club in Park City with his sister & husband. The weekend came and his sister & husband coveniently couldn't go anymore so he asked if I still wanted to go. We headed up there and I talked his ear off like I usually do. He didn't say much on the way up, now I know why! We got to the room and when we went in he was looking all around. He told me to wait there and came back with the most beautiful red roses! Still not knowing what was going on I asked him why he got me those. He said just because he wanted to. He then pulled out the cutest letter and asked me to read it aloud. I was just crying and I turned around to finish reading it. After I finished it I turned around and he was kneeling on the ground with the most gorgeous ring. With tears in his eyes he asked me to marry him. I said are you serious like three times! I said yes and we were so happy!! We called our families and texted all our friends. We then went to Ruth Chris for dinner and couldn't stop smiling!! I just want my husband to know how much I love and appreciate him! He slowly put me back together again and showed me the kind of love and respect that I deserve!!! I love him!

Ok...so Adam and I are SERIOUSLY addicted to reality t.v. Really don't know what we would do without it!!! Here are some of our faves....Tough Love Couples...Steve and his mom help troubled couples with their relationships. It's hilarious:) Where do they find these people??

Tori & Dean...Love her...he's a nerd...their kids have mullets, but I think they are hilarious together!

2010 Apple For The Teacher awards!!!

This week I found out that I was nominated for the 2010 Apple For The Teacher Award!! More than 1,200 Utah teachers were nominated! The nominees from my school were Mrs. Thaxton 2/3 grade, Myself 1st grade, and Stacey Peterson 5th grade:) Out of all the nominees there were eight chosen and Stacey from our school was one of the winners! So exciting! I feel honored that I was nominated and I absolutely LOVE my job!! I love teaching so much and feel so blessed to be able to play an important part in each of my student's lives:) Below is an article that one of Stacey's students wrote about her...it's a tear jerker...

I have cancer and can't go to school. Miss Peterson has arranged for me to skype my class online. She has also arranged for two other teachers to skype with me so I can have the same experiences as my classmates. She comes over to my house after school to help me with my math. She arranged for the principal, Mr. Baird to let me shave his head and some others from my class so I would not be the only one bald. She makes me smile and is so kind and truly cares about me and how I am feeling. She includes me in everything she can. At Christmas time they were making some candy trains and she brought me some sugar free candy so I could make one too. She brings me art projects and helps me do them. She brings me everything I need so I can do science experiments. She has come to the hospital to visit me and has attended classes on how to help those with cancer. She is the best teacher. She makes learning interesting and fun.

Easter & St. George...

We had a great Easter weekend & Spring Break! It was so nice to have a week off of school and just focus on family and doing a whole lot of nothing! We started off Easter morning with brunch with my family at Oakridge:) We then headed to Draper for dinner with the Dayton's. Bruce & Kandie had a easter egg hunt for Jace & Jax and we got to spend time with Natalie. I love my in-laws so much and am so blessed to be apart of their amazing family:) The following week Adam & I headed down to St. George for the Luv 2 Dance competition/mini vacation:) We laid by the pool and went to Bear Paw for breakfast on Friday and I had my competition on Saturday. We were also able to squeeze some Fiesta Fun in of course:) All my teams did so great and all took first place! Holla:) I forgot to take pics but they were so dang cute & I'm so proud of them! Sorry the pics are out of order:(

On Saturday it was my 29th birthday! It really was the best birthday ever! I started off with a surprise birthday from my first grade class. Some awesome moms in my class arranged it and the kids were so excited! They gave me a little card box with a card that spelled out Happy Birthday Mrs. Dayton. Each letter stood for a descriptive word that they thought fit me, it was absolutely adorable:) We played games and ate cupcakes. My class sure knows how to make their teacher feel special:) I then took the day off Friday for some me and hubby time. We spent the day going out to lunch and to see the Bounty Hunter. On Saturday Adam surprised me with two dozen pink roses, a watch, and a gift card to the buckle. He then made reservations at P.F. Chang's, so yummy! Thanks for the amazing birthday babe! I'm so glad I'm yours:)

My Grandma...

So this past week on the 11th was my grandma's 74th birthday! She for sure is one HOT GRANDMA!! Her and I have had a very close relationship ever since I was a little girl. I don't know if it is because I was the first granddaughter or the fact that we have so much in common. We talk on the phone almost daily and I look up to her for so many reasons. One of my favorite things about my grandma is how freaking stylish she is! She always has lots of jewelry on and always looks fab!! I remember as a kid looking through all her sequin dresses and putting all her beautiful jewelry on! She would never get upset with me, instead together we would try on her shoes and clothes and all her "glitters" as I used to call them. I also LOVE her smell! She wears Red Door perfume and that smell always reminds me of her. I also loves how she loves, adores, and respects my grandpa. They hardly do anything without each other and they have such a strong and happy marriage. She has taught me so much in life and I feel so honored to call her my grandma!! I love you and happy birthday!
